The Otter pond
Our otter ponds contain both a large saltwater section and a small freshwater section. The otters need both. But perhaps the most important part of the habitat is snug and warm sleeping places. Otters rest up to 70% of the time.

Habitat
Otters are semi-aquatic, which means that both the land and water parts of the habitat are important. In addition, they need both saltwater and freshwater. Check out the slide they have down to the freshwater pool.
Maintenance
The habitat is reviewed often, but the saltwater section is not cleaned and emptied as often as with penguins and sea lions. But still perhaps more often than we wash our kitchen floor.
