Epipedobates tricolor
Tr 13.2 Phantasmal poison frogThe phantasmal poison frog is, as the name implies, highly toxic. The toxins are in the skin and are a result of their diet in the wild. Our frogs are born in Oslo Reptile Park and are therefore not toxic.
Breeding
Males fight each other to win the attention of a female. The female lays up to 30 eggs under moist leaf litter. Both parents care for the eggs. When the eggs hatch, one of the parents will carry the tadpoles on their back to a nearby water source.
